An Introduction
Welcome to Jail Psychologist! This is a website that compliments a YouTube channel about mental health, criminal justice, and public policy. It may seem strange to start with a series on economics. The reason for this is that our economic landscape lays the foundation for our mental health. In this initial series, I will explain how the US economy relates to living standards, how living standards relate to depression and mental illness, and what we can do to fix these issues and improve mental health outcomes. The concepts explained in this initial series are fundamental to understanding mental health in the US, and arguably more important than anything else that I will cover on this site.
